Grazie ad un lavoro di calcolo e di compensazione delle emissioni di CO2, le macchine per espresso XT e Zero sono “Carbon Neutral”. I processi di produzione sono stati compensati con certificati verdi del progetto Ntakata Mountains, un tassello che entra a far parte di PlaNet, il programma di responsabilità sociale e sostenibilità ambientale di Dalla Corte.
Valori come la sostenibilità ambientale e la responsabilità sociale hanno fatto parte della mission di Dalla Corte – azienda milanese produttrice di macchine per espresso professionali – da sempre: prima con un progetto nell’isola di Sumatra – Indonesia – per ben 5 anni, Second Chance in collaborazione con il Carcere di Milano Bollate dal 2016 , i pozzi in Camerun nel 2018, l’introduzione di materiali lead free certificati e la verifica dei consumi energetici delle macchine espresso, rendendo inoltre tutti i dati di dominio pubblico sul sito web.
Con PlaNet, Dalla Corte vuole raccogliere tutti questi progetti sotto un unico cappello, aggiungendo un’altra importante iniziativa ai progetti di responsabilità sociale dell’azienda: la compensazione delle emissioni di CO2 di tutte le macchine per espresso dell’azienda, cominciando da XT e Zero, rendendole di fatto “Carbon Neutral”.
Un progetto iniziato nel 2020, quando l’azienda ha iniziato a calcolare le emissioni di CO2 relative al ciclo di vita dei loro prodotti principali, in accordo con le norme ISO. In particolare, sono state analizzate le attività di produzione dei componenti delle macchine per espresso professionali, le attività di assemblaggio nella loro sede di Baranzate e la distribuzione verso i loro clienti in tutto il mondo. Grazie a questo lavoro le macchine multigruppo XT e Zero sono “Carbon Neutral”, ossia le loro emissioni di CO2 sono state interamente compensate attraverso l’acquisto di certificati verdi relativi al progetto Ntakata Mountains, che ha lo scopo di proteggere le foreste e le risorse a favore degli agricoltori in Tanzania.
La ricerca di un’iniziativa che soddisfacesse tutte le aspettative era iniziata già due anni fa, Dalla Corte ha intenzionalmente dedicato molto lavoro e investito molto tempo cercando un programma che potesse sostenere a lungo termine. Dalla Corte ha identificato quindi un progetto lungimirante con un focus sulla protezione delle risorse: nella regione infatti i Bende, i Tongwe e gli Ha, che si identificano come gente della foresta, sono agricoltori che coltivano raccolti e allevano bestiame. Gli agricoltori di questo paesaggio ricco di foreste praticano il loro stile di vita in valli ben irrigate e si sono sempre presi cura delle foreste che ricoprono le montagne intorno alle loro comunità.
Questo stile di vita agricolo dipende da foreste in buona salute per la raccolta dell’acqua, terreni sani e tanti altri prodotti e servizi, quali medicine, miele e piccole quantità di legna da ardere e pali da costruzione. Nel progetto di conservazione delle foreste nelle montagne Ntakata, Dalla Corte contribuisce alla protezione del clima e alla conservazione di queste risorse.
L’attenzione per la sostenibilità ambientale e per le tematiche green cresce ogni giorno, con Planet Dalla Corte intende dare ancor più risalto a questi temi mostrando cosa hanno già fatto, cosa stanno facendo e cosa faranno in futuro per rispondere all’esigenza di salvaguardare il pianeta.

Dalla Corte start their journey towards carbon neutrality and launch PlaNet
After an extensive work of measuring and offsetting the carbon footprint of the Dalla Corte Zero and XT models, these espresso machines are now “Carbon Neutral”. The production processes have been offset with carbon credits for the Ntakata Mountains program, a project that becomes part of PlaNet, Dalla Corte’s sustainability and social responsibility plan.
Sustainability and social responsibility are commitments that have always been part of the core values of Italian espresso machine manufacturer Dalla Corte. They have been committed to various programs, such as the Second Chance venture in collaboration with the Bollate penitentiary since 2016, a 5-year project on the island of Sumatra, the wells in Cameroon in 2018, introducing lead-free materials, testing the machines’ energy efficiency and making all the data public on their website. With PlaNet, Dalla Corte gathers all these projects under one name, adding another important activity to the company’s sustainability plan: offsetting the emissions of all their espresso machines – starting with XT and Zero – making them “Carbon Neutral”.
A project started in 2020, when the company began measuring the carbon footprint of their primary products, in compliance with ISO standards. They measured the impact of their components’ production, assembling processes in their headquarters in Baranzate, and shipping to customers all over the world. With this work, the XT and Zero multigroup machines have become “Carbon Neutral”, i.e. their carbon footprint has been fully offset by buying carbon credits for the Ntakata Mountains project, which protects forests and farmers in Tanzania.
Two years ago, Dalla Corte started looking for a project which would meet all their expectations. They’ve intentionally put in a lot of work and invested a great deal of time searching for an initiative that they could support in the long term. They’ve identified a longsighted project with a focus on protecting resources: in this area, the Bende, Tongwe and Ha, who identify themselves as people of the forest, are farmers who grow crops and raise livestock. The farmers in this rich forested landscape practice their lifestyle in well-watered valleys and have always cared for the forests that cover the mountains around their communities. This farming lifestyle depends on healthy forests, healthy soils and many other things, such as medicines, honey and firewood and building poles. With this forest conservation project in the Ntakata Mountains in Tanzania, Dalla Corte commits to protecting forests for farmers, wildlife and climate.
The focus on sustainability and other social issues is increasing on a global scale: with PlaNet, Dalla Corte intends giving even more importance to these topics by showing what they have already done, what they are doing and what they are going to do in the future, to respond to the call for urgent action to safeguard our planet.
