Un’acqua dal gusto superiore, premiata da un Taste Award, merita di essere conosciuta ben oltre i confini della penisola da cui nasce. Per questo Eurowaterland ha deciso di far affrontare al proprio brand Epirus Kostilatas Springs un lungo viaggio che lo ha portato dai verdi Monti Athamanian ai caldi territori dell’Arabia Saudita.
Un mercato quindi molto esigente quello che l’azienda ha deciso di affrontare e sul quale si battono già brand internazionali del calibro di Evian. Per affrontare una simile competizione, Eurowaterland ha richiesto a PET Engineering una bottiglia dall’aspetto premium che presentasse, nonostante il peso ridotto richiesto, meno nervature di rinforzo possibile e pochi elementi decorativi. PET Engineering ha proposto un packaging cilindrico con un decoro a montagne sulla spalla e una serie di piccoli solchi verticali che, oltre ad avere lo scopo di irrigidire la bottiglia al carico verticale e alla deformazione radiale, rappresentano gli stretti anfratti che l’acqua percorre tra le rocce dei Monti Athamanian per poter arrivare al consumatore finale arricchita di preziosi Sali minerali.
Il progetto, oltre al design del packaging, prevedeva anche l’alleggerimento del contenitore attraverso l’implementazione di un nuovo filetto 29/25: PET Engineering si è occupata della conversione della linea di imbottigliamento Krones e della fornitura della serie stampi.

Eurowaterland entrusts PET Engineering with the development of premium water packaging
A water with superior flavour, winner of a Taste Award, deserves to become well-known far beyond the borders of its country of origin. That’s why Eurowaterland decided to send its brand Epirus Kostilatas Springs on a long journey, taking it from the green Athamanian Mountains to the hot terrains of Saudi Arabia.
The market that the brand has decided to take on is therefore a very demanding one, where international brands such as Evian are already battling it out. In order to face such tough competition, Eurowaterland asked PET Engineering to design a premium bottle with as few strengthening ribs as possible, despite the lower weight requested, and with very few decorative features. PET Engineering came up with a cylinder-shaped packaging solution with a mountain motif on the shoulder and a series of small vertical grooves. These grooves not only stiffen the bottle against the vertical load and prevent it from losing its radial shape, but also represent the narrow ravines of the Athamanian Mountains through which the water runs before reaching the end consumer, enriched with precious mineral salts.
As well as designing the packaging, this project also involved making the container lighter by implementing a new 29/25 thread: PET Engineering handled the conversion of the Krones bottling line and supplied the set of moulds.
