Il cammino fatto di ripetuti test e controlli, è stato lungo, ma rispettivamente a gennaio e maggio 2015 Dalla Corte ha definitivamente ottenuto le certificazioni NSF/ANSI 4 e NSF/ANSI 372, riconosciute dall’American National Standards Institute (ANSI).
Negli Stati Uniti, infatti, l’FDA (Food and Drug Administration) ha definito nuovi criteri per i materiali al contatto con gli alimenti, che ha imposto una impegnativa ricerca di nuove leghe metalliche.
La certificazione NSF/ANSI 4, relativa a Commercial Cooking, Rethermalization and Powered Hot Food Holding and Transport Equipment, attesta che le parti della macchina a contatto con l’acqua non rilasciano sostanze nocive per la salute né pregiudicano la qualità del prodotto alimentare.
Lo standard della NSF/ANSI 372 – Drinking Water System Components – Lead Content, certifica un contenuto massimo di piombo nelle leghe di metallo a contatto con l’acqua dello 0,25%, rendendo di fatto i prodotti realizzati con esse idonei secondo le leggi americane e iscrivibili nella categoria “lead free”, senza piombo.
Grazie a ciò, Dalla Corte può apporre sulle sue macchine espresso il marchio ETL Sanitation Listed, che dichiara la conformità agli standard per la vendita e la distribuzione in nord America in base all’esito positivo di prove indipendenti effettuati dal Gruppo Intertek.
Dalla Corte si è messa in linea con i dettami FDA e ha voluto anticipare i tempi per la ricezione di norme analoghe in Europa, realizzando le parti a contatto con l’acqua di tutte le sue macchine espresso con due nuove leghe d’ottone – CW 510L e CW 509L – che non danno cessioni di materiali considerati pesanti, mantenendo al contempo l’affidabilità e la grande tenuta termica di sempre.
Dalla Corte è il primo costruttore al mondo di macchine espresso ad adottare i nuovi materiali che hanno ottenuto la certificazione nella realizzazione di tutte le macchine prodotte nel suo stabilimento di Baranzate (Milano) e non solo in quelle destinate al mercato statunitense.

Dalla Corte Machines Now Certified as Lead Free
After a long testing period, in January and May 2015 Dalla Corte finally obtained the NSF/ANSI 4 and NSF/ANSI 372 certifications, acknowledged by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI).
In the USA, the FDA (Food and Drug Administration) established new criteria for food contact materials, thus prompting a challenging search of new metal alloys.
The NSF/ANSI 4 “Commercial Cooking, Rethermalization and Powered Hot Food Holding and Transport Equipment” certification attests that machine parts in contact with water do not release toxic substances, nor jeopardise the quality of the final product.
The NSF/ANSI 372 “Drinking Water System Components – Lead Content” standard allows a maximum lead content of 0.25% in metal alloys. Products complying with this US standard can thus be legally considered “lead free”.
For this reason – after the positive outcomes of the testing carried out by the independent Intertek Group – Dalla Corte espresso machines now carry the ETL Sanitation and ETL Listed marks, which certify their compliance with North American sale and distribution standards.
Dalla Corte decided to comply with FDA criteria and to be ahead of its time in Europe by manufacturing the water contact parts of all its espresso machines in two new brass alloys – CW 510L and CW 509L – that do not release heavy metals but preserve their reliability and great thermal stability.
Dalla Corte has been the first espresso machine manufacturer in the world to use the new certified materials in all the machines built in the Baranzate plant (Milan, Italy), and not only in the machines that are destined to the US market.
